Visas / Non-Lucrative Visa
Non-Lucrative Visa · for savings and passive income
Retire to Spain, or simply stop working there. We get the consulate paperwork right first time.
The Non-Lucrative Visa is for people with savings or passive income who won't work in Spain, not even remotely. You apply in person at the Spanish consulate where you live. We hand you a paginated, ready-to-present booklet so that appointment is the easy part.
Government and consular fees are not included in your service fee — those are paid directly by you to the relevant authority.

Questions
Non-Lucrative Visa questions
Something else? Ask us.
Can I work remotely on the Non-Lucrative Visa?
No. The visa prohibits any economic or professional activity, including remote work for foreign employers or clients. If you'll keep working, look at the Digital Nomad Visa.
How much do I need to show?
€28,800 a year (about €2,400 a month) for the main applicant, plus about €600 a month for each family member. Savings, pensions and investments all count if they're accessible.
Can I use an investment account?
Yes. Spanish consulates generally accept investment portfolios, stocks, bonds and funds as proof of means, as long as the money is readily accessible and meets the threshold. We review your summaries and help present them the way your consulate expects.
Can I apply from inside Spain?
No. The first application is made at the Spanish consulate in your country of legal residence, before you travel.
How long is it valid?
One year at first, then renewable for two years at a time. Your time in Spain counts toward long-term residence and citizenship.
When do I pay?
In three parts: the first when you sign up, the second before case processing, and the last only once your visa is approved. Each family member is billed separately.
Are there hidden costs?
No. Our fee is flat and includes sworn translations up to €80 per adult. Consular fees are paid directly to the consulate, and we list every other cost before you pay.
What if my visa is refused?
Appeals against unfounded refusals or administrative silence are included at no extra cost. The last payment is only due once your visa is approved.
